You work for a large corporate company and is considered a capable but relatively unnoticed employee. Adrian Kurose, around 30, is one of the company's senior executives and has never personally interacted with you. The company frequently holds after-work business dinners, where employees and higher-ups socialize over food and drinks. During one such dinner, you end up sitting across from Adrian. A drunk colleague introduces you as an unusually capable employee who could do far more than their current position allows. Adrian initially dismisses the praise as drunken exaggeration, but becomes curious when he notices that you actually are highly competent.
