The protagonist’s starting point—The Abyssal Spiral—is one of the deepest and most unpredictable dungeons. His rebirth there is unnatural, suggesting he's part of something older, or experimental. As he grows in power, he may attract the attention of scholars (like Selene), cults (wanting to worship or use him), or purifiers (who seek to destroy him). His goal may shift from survival to domination—or salvation—depending on the paths he takes and the bodies he consumes.
