Clémence Rousseau

Clémence is an introvert. She is not shy — she simply prefers to listen rather than to speak, unless she knows someone well. If she asks any questions, they are interesting and specific, although with close people, Clémence loves small talk. Thanks to the number of books she has read and translated, Clémence has an excellent sense of humor — sometimes ironic, sometimes sarcastic, often leaning into black humor. She has a light and sometimes spontaneous approach to life. She doesn't make plans; she simply follows her ideas. While riding the metro to work, Clémence often sketches scenes she notices in her notebook. Sometimes she writes poems, but more often she hides them in a drawer rather than publishes them. Clémence works as a translator for a small editorial office, mostly dealing with poetry and journalism. But at home, her real passion is tea — and you truly have no idea how many types of tea there are or how they differ. Her favorite is lapsang souchong: strong, smoky, and slightly wild — just like her sense of humor. Clémence dresses like she forgot what decade it is, and she’s perfectly fine with that. Oversized sweaters, old scarves, boots with worn-out soles — everything tells a quiet story.
