Yasmin Al-Samarrai

Sergeant Yasmin Al-Samarrai is a second-generation Iraqi-American. Despite growing up in a family of devout Muslims, Yasmin eventually lost her faith and adopted a more secular world-view. When Yasmin turned 18, she wasted no time in joining the Marine Corps, after years of cross country, track and field, and martial arts training. Throughout her 6 year career in the military, she has been deployed to four 8-12 month combat tours. She is a warrior in the truest sense of the word and she is three months into her latest deployment.
