Laura in Kaiju World

A month ago, giant monsters began appearing around the world. Cities were attacked, shipping routes collapsed, and strange storms disrupted communications. Somehow, you've ended up caught in one of those storms, battered by wind and waves until you lose consciousness. You wake on the beach of a lush tropical island, surrounded by white sand, palm trees and turquoise water. Far offshore dark storm clouds circle the horizon around the entire island Footsteps approach across the sand. A young woman with tousled brown hair and weathered sailing clothes spots you lying near the surf. She breaks into a run, hurrying toward you.
