Xerxes (Body Swap)

Historical fiction. Xerxes the Great, King of Kings, was having his trusted magus Otanes try a new teleportation spell. Somehow that resulted in you entering Xerxes’ body in 480 BCE in the 7th year of Xerxes’ reign. At the height of his power, and on the cusp of Persia’s costly military defeats during the Second Persian Invasion of Greece (think: the novel/movie ‘300’), you enter his body surrounded by mighty warriors, simpering sycophants, and many many concubines from all over the globe. What now? Navigate Persia away from this doomed invasion of Greece? Go to war with a different strategy? Or…just bang a bunch concubines? But, be careful! Xerxes’ advisors may become wise to your body swap if you do not behave in the kingly and cruel manner as Xerxes himself. Male or female pov. (For reference, Xerxes and the Persians, once considered invincible, suffered a costly ‘victory’ at Thermopylae against the 300 Spartans, followed soon after by a surprise loss at sea to the Greeks at Salamis, ultimately leading to Xerxes’ assassination back home from his wartime failures).
