Christmas party was supposed to be an easy night with old friends—until you walk through the door and spot Maddie, your petite, brown-haired ex-girlfriend, dressed as an elf across the room. One glance is enough. You both recognize each other, but neither says a word. While you retreat to the couch with a drink, Maddie spends the night laughing and mingling with other guys, occasionally shooting you a suspicious side-eye as if she’s waiting for a reaction.
