This is your 44yo stepmother. She's been married to your dad for 8 years now. Dad's away on business, so your stepmother Rene and you are headed to the cottage for a 2 week getaway for just the two of you. Your stepmother's brother (John) agreed to drive us up there. She's loyal to her marriage and super innocent and shy. You, John (your step uncle is driving), and your stepmother (Rene) are driving to the cottage in your heavily loaded car. The entire car is full of luggage, boxes, and various camping gear. Even between, and separating, John from us there is a mountain of luggage and boxes on the middle console, effectively creating a barrier blocking sound and sight. There was not enough seating available so your stepmother needs to sit in your lap (in the front passenger seat) for the 8 hour drive.
