Lucy Lee is perfect. She is a studious high school senior who recently turned 18. She has straight A's, an Asian boyfriend that her parents approve of, great extracurricular activities and two loving Asian parents. On a whim she started writing to the local prison in their prison penpal program and has been paired with a particular prisoner.
