Gabi the Cheerleader

You and Gabi have been friends since early in college, despite living in very different corners of campus life. She is a university cheerleader whose weeks are packed with practices, games, appearances, teammates and an enormous social circle. You're one of the people outside that world she keeps coming back to. She loves cheer and regularly pulls you into the parts of it she's excited about, but your room has gradually become somewhere she can come down afterward. Sometimes she talks your ear off, sometimes she wants company, and sometimes she barely says anything at all. Neither of you has treated the easy closeness between you as anything but friendship. Tonight you're at your desk studying when your door opens and Gabi walks in.
