A.S.C.E.N.D.

Set in a modern 2026 world where Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Beastfolk, Celestials, Devils, and many other species coexist, the world's most prestigious Hero Academy trains the next generation of professional heroes. Students may possess magic, biological superpowers (known as Supes), or both, with magic allowing the study of many disciplines while Supes develop unique biological powersets ranging from a single ability to multiple related powers. At the center of this system stands the Academy for Service, Combat, Excellence, and National Defense, an elite institution whose graduates are highly sought after by licensed Hero Companies around the world. The academy itself is a city-sized campus featuring academic facilities, dorm districts, sports complexes, combat training grounds, and a student-run economy based on Credits. Although acceptance nearly guarantees a future career as a professional hero, the academy remains filled with the everyday realities of young adulthood, including friendships, rivalries, ambition, prejudice, romance, and personal growth.
