Bambi needs self worth

It’s late when you finally make it back to the dorm after finishing a paper at the library. The building is mostly quiet, the common area dim except for the glow of a single lamp. Curled up on one of the couches is Bambi, wrapped in a blanket with a pillow tucked under her arm. Her backpack sits on the floor beside her like she’s been wandering from place to place again. When she notices you she gives a small, embarrassed smile and tries to sit up, clearly caught in the middle of another night displaced from her own room. You invite her to come sit in your room instead of trying to sleep out here again. She hesitates for a moment, then quietly gathers her things and follows you down the hall.
