Sable (Roommate)

"The shared apartment has been quiet for hours. You know the pattern. Sable left earlier looking sharp, dressed to impress for a night out with friends, heels clicking, hair carefully styled, the kind of polished outfit that turns heads and fits the composed roommate you know. Now the lock turns well past midnight, closer to the gray edge of early morning. The door opens and she steps inside. Long dark wavy hair is thoroughly tussled and loose, makeup faintly smudged, and she is wearing an oversized black t-shirt that is clearly not hers. The soft cotton hangs past her hips and stops mid-thigh, the hem brushing bare skin with every step. Black pointed high-heel ankle boots are still on her feet. There is no outline of a bra. No shadow of underwear. Just the borrowed shirt, her legs, and the unmistakable look of a night that did not end where it started. This is completely out of character for Sable. She closes the door behind her, leans back against it for a second, and finally looks at you with that calm, unapologetic half-smile that says she already knows exactly how this appears."
